Not much can beat the feeling of a good workout. However, finding the time to squeeze one into a busy day can be rough. For the past few weeks, we’ve been treated to the solution for just that — PimpYourMat.

Each of us at Prettyography has stepped #onthemat with Tandy several times over the last few weeks. The workouts? Amazing.

In roughly 30 minutes, Tandy walks through a rockstar pilates-based workout. The hardest part might just be choosing which video from the vast library I want to do today — upper body, lower body, core, complete stretch? The opportunity to cater that selection to the areas I need to work most makes PYM not only an excellent stand-alone workout program, but also a wonderful stretch and strengthen supplement to other fitness routines. I used it as a way of loosening up in the evenings after hard mornings in spin class. I was easily able to find videos that helped me relieve strain from my muscles while also providing some strengthening challenges along the way.

Having been through numerous pilates, yoga, dance and group fitness classes — I’m the first to admit that I’m insanely picky when it comes to instructors. Too fast, too slow, not motivational enough — it takes nothing for me to drop a class. Tandy’s instruction is perfect. You can easily tell that she’s a seasoned instructor. She seamlessly flows from one movement to the next while providing clear guidance for you to do the same. She even gets gold stars for my ability to follow along without needing to watching the video for most exercises. Her instruction is simply intuitive and easily scales for what your body can handle — it doesn’t get much better than that!

I’ve loved that post-workout I feel refreshed, challenged and energized. When you consider a floor-based routine, “hard workout” is rarely what comes to mind — but let me tell you, this is no sleepy stretch class. Tandy’s expertise makes the most of your 30 available minutes with the most effective and efficient workout possible. If all you can do today is sacrifice 30 minutes to get on your mat — Tandy will make it worth your commitment. She’ll also make your legs feel like jello. 😉
