ArtsKC’s #TimetoGive Fuels Kansas City Arts Community with One-day Event

ArtsKC’s #TimetoGive has arrived again and there’s no better time than now to show your support for the arts! Starting tomorrow — Friday, May 1 — ArtsKC will take over Kansas City social media with a digital day of giving for the arts, and they need your help to make it a success! The 3rd annual event will raise funds to support local artists, art organizations and the creative community at large through the next year — all with some simple sharing.

Meet ArtsKC

ArtsKC is a regional arts council that fuels those creative initiatives right here in our backyard — the KC metro. The non-profit provides a central hub for arts information, resources and support. And, each of their programs and services is created specifically to support the needs of our growing arts community. Their reach includes Clay, Platte and Jackson counties in Missouri and even spans the state line to Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas.

“We’re the voice for the arts in civic dialogues,” said Programs Manager Erinn Faulconer. “By working closely with both the arts and business communities, we keep informed of challenges and provide a forum for the community to discuss current issues and opportunities. ArtsKC promotes networking, learning and collaboration among the arts and business communities.”

#TimetoGive

ArtsKC #TimetoGive#TimetoGive day invites anyone and everyone to contribute to the ArtsKC Fund to support those amazing arts efforts in the most simple way possible — through online donation and social sharing. This year’s goal is the largest ever: to raise $30,000 for Kansas City arts in just one day — ultimately empowering ArtsKC to make a huge impact in the coming months if it can be achieved.

“The arts have an impact on our community beyond the experience of each individual audience member. They attract businesses, talent and tourism to the region,” said Erinn. “They account for $273 million in annual direct expenditures, and they beautify our city and enrich our daily lives.” How else do you donations help?

    • 100% of your #TimetoGive contribution goes back to the community. Really! All donations made between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday, May 1, directly support ArtsKC Fund — benefiting artists, arts organizations and arts programs in our region through a number of locally distributed grants and programs.
    • The arts become more accessible to all. ArtsKC Fund supports transportation and education programming, arts groups working in diverse and under-served communities and helps support organizations providing free events.
    • Innovation and entrepreneurship in the arts can grow. Erinn also told us that “ArtsKC Fund encourages our region’s entrepreneurial spirit alongside sustaining our well-established arts traditions. Whether it is an individual artist inspired to embark on a new collaborative venture or a larger arts organization experimenting with a new program, your donation provides support for these ideas.”
    • Our collective cultural traditions are preserved. ArtsKC Fund supports well-established arts organizations that serve the largest populations within our region and helps them to fuel programs that preserve our artistic values.
