For someone that could not even pronounce “brigadeiro” a few months ago, it’s very safe to say I’ve developed quite the obsession. Kansas City’s Sweet Kiss Brigadeiro has become my go-to shop for unique sweets that are the perfect addition to gifts, parties and more.
We’re quickly making our way through the entire line up of flavors — chocolate, white chocolate Nutella, coconut, creme brulee, lime, walnut — each and every one has been delicious. But of course, just when I thought it couldn’t get better, a new flavor creeps into the mix and this one might just be my new favorite: pistachio.
The newest little Brazilian candy is a fabulous addition to the Sweet Kiss family. Like the others, it’s silky, delicate and is the perfect indulgence for any sweet tooth. A layer of delicious crushed pistachios adds an amazing crunch to each brigadeiro’s smooth, creamy center and provides a perfect compliment of savory flavor to the otherwise sweet treat.
Everything about this one is perfect for me:
- The texture is awesome. The combo of super smooth brigadeiro and the soft crunch of the pistachios is spot on.
- The flavor is amazing. I love the slightly nutty flavor of the pistachios added to the otherwise sweet treat. It’s delicate and delicious. Worth noting though — I had several pistachio-loving friends that were surprised by the lack of salty flavor. If you’re looking for a purely savory snack, this isn’t quite it — but it’s unbelievably tasty if you’re down for some sweetness!
- The look is pretty great too. The pretty green of the pistachios chopped on the edges is stunning and makes for a really pretty display.
The timing of the new release couldn’t possibly be better. With Mother’s Day just a few days away and pistachio also being one of my mom’s favorite flavors, I know that a box of these divine treats will be sneaking into her gift!
