How’s that new year’s diet coming?
One of the biggest hurdles in a swift diet change is finding that good food groove. When it comes right down to it, even the produce section at the area’s smallest grocery store still requires a lot of planning and decision-making to survive. More often than not – I’m a bit flustered and wandering, not exactly paying attention to minor details — like if it’s fresh.
Believe me, nothing wrecks your weekly diet plan like a box of furry strawberries. Or a grapefruit that’s been in the crisper for longer than you can remember. Or that asparagus you only cooked half of and forgot until even the freezer smelled like rotten asparagus. It happens. And those things ruin fruits and veggies for even the most diehard of dieters. So, let’s avoid that.
Instead, go with the freshest of the fresh.
Especially during the winter when our local garden season is basically nonexistent, getting farm-fresh organic produce takes some strategy.
