Celebrating KC Local Week, Kansas Citians of all ages flooded the beautiful Season + Square in Brookside to enjoy the latest shrubs and more from Kansas City Canning Co. The week’s Sips & Snacks event offered the perfect local happy hour — highlighting locally produced products in the gorgeous local shop.
Surrounded by the beautiful spice collection of Season + Square along with a variety of home goods by local makers, we laughed, chatted and mmm’d as we sampled the amazing spread of Kansas City Canning Co. fare. Truly delicious pickles and preserves dotted a table ready for tasting while Kansas City Canning Co’s Laura Tuohy mixed Watermelon Habanero Margaritas for the crowd.
Probably not surprising, the Sips & Snacks crowd raved over the cocktail with a kick. The delicious watermelon flavor finished with the perfect kick that was only better complemented by the salt on the glass. So, naturally, you had to keep drinking. The cocktail’s perfect, simple recipe is printed on the shrub’s bottle, making it easy to mix your own.
