Shake Your Arbonne-Bon

“I’m not a party girl.” Say it with me. You know – the Tupperware/Thirty One/Pampered Chef/Premier Designs/Mary Kay-type party socialite that shops and shows all the latest lines in her own living room. That’s not me – I’ve always been absolutely terrible at it. However, for Arbonne, I made an exception.

Let’s be honest – for Kristin, I made an exception.

My cousin, loveably known as Pink in our family, is a new Arbonne consultant and when a friend or relative starts selling – well, you’re crazy if you think you’re not going to be a hostess. Literally knowing nothing about the product line, I signed up a few weeks ago. Yesterday, we partied. Today, I couldn’t be happier that we did.

Pink has an awesome approach to this that made the awkward home shopping party culture disappear: wine. With salsa, fresh cookies and a decent selection of wine and cocktails – we spent the afternoon sipping and sampling some of what I now know as the awesome Arbonne line up. Surprisingly, I found myself being really excited about a lot of the stuff that she offers.

Turns out, Arbonne has been around for awhile. And while everyone is just now jumping on the all natural bandwagon – they’ve been perfecting it for years. The result is a line of products that are certified vegan, made from real ingredients that you can actually pronounce and all contribute to making you your healthiest self.

Seriously. The first thing we did when Pink unpacked was wash our hands with some fancy anti-aging SeaSource Detox Spa Foaming Sea Salt Scrub. Then, the real magic happened. “Here, now do this” – she handed me SeaSource Detox Spa Re-Mineralizing Body Lotion. Holy. Cow. Mom’s hands looked younger. Mine, having been washed about a thousand times while baking that day just felt awesome. On the list.

As a health-aware sugar addict, anything that helps bust the cravings gets my attention. Sure, when we tore this thing open, I thought of charcoal. And the chocolate flavor we sampled isn’t exactly spot on. But here’s this: I can see how popping a Fit Chew would get you around a craving. Tasting like an odd, oversized Tootsie Roll, I chomped on the thing for quite awhile and, by the time it was gone, I’d forgotten all about my intense need for the giant chocolate chip cookies in the next room.

I’ve always loved the Bath & Body Works shea line, but Arbonne’s Shea Butter Hand & Body Lotion blew it out of the water. This is the bottled-up summer. Such a light sent. Awesome moisture. I’ll take 5.

As the party wrapped up, I took full advantage of my being-the-cousin perks which started with sampling the full RE9 set. My combination acne-prone skin sucks – for real. What I noticed most about the product is that I didn’t notice anything. No burning. No greasiness. It left me with a very “well what good did that even do?” feeling. However, the next day, my skin was simply feeling so much better – softer, cleaner and clearing up.

For the past 10 months or so, I’ve been a Mac junkie – but I’ll be the first to admit that the color is never quite right. Even the color coming out of the same bottle is very inconsistent and usually starts to turn orange the closer you get to the bottom. Again, using my cousin perks, I ninja’d Pink’s collection of Arbonne concealer, Intelligence CC Cream and Natural Radiance Mineral Powder – only to be in complete awe after a few days of use. It’s light. My skin breathes. It covers without looking cakey. And the light iridescence makes me look all glowy. All of them on the list!

Of all the product sitting in my house on Sunday, I was most excited to see the tiniest container of them all — It’s a Long Story Mascara. Oh my jebus, impact. It took hardly any effort to apply and with a couple of quick swooshes, I finally had some good drama going on. After sampling pretty much every Clinique mascara on the shelf, I was shocked at how effortless and effective this stuff was. Mine.

2076.lgMore to fuel my tea detoxing addiction
If you’re even slightly aware of my teatoxing obsession, you know I’m freaking out over finding yet another one to try. Arbonne’s Herbal Detox Tea claims to focus on cleaning up your kidneys and liver. A quick Google found some raving reviews, so you’d better believe this one is fighting for the top-spot on my growing Arbonne shopping list!

For a line that I’d never heard of to offer so much stuff that I’m already in love with – I’m beyond excited. Party girl or not – exploring the line over the last few days has been a ton of fun. You’ll definitely see full reviews of each product as I buy and use pretty much any Arbonne thing I can get my hands on. In the mean time, find the products that intrigue you on Arbonne site, then email me or Kristin to place an order or book a party to try some of these amazing things yourself!
