Kansas City Fashion Week kicks off Friday, Sept. 18, and continues through Sunday, Sept. 27 — bringing 10 days of fashion-forward focus to the City of Fountains. With a stunning runway set in the Sprint Festival Plaza at Union Station, the event is already scheduled to showcase nearly 30 phenomenal designers. Many past fan favorites including Jessica Lynn, Lauren Bander, Molly Elizabeth Designs, Architexture, Tomboy Design, Lucia’s Sarto, Maria Behnen and House of Cochon will return to the stage to share their latest looks.

“KCFW strives each season to bring the best emerging and featured fashion designers to show their upcoming collections to our audience,” said Kansas City Fashion Week president, Teisha Barber. “If you attend a KCFW show, you are guaranteed to see the latest trend-setting fashion trends from local and national designers, right here in Kansas City.  It’s a wonderful and exciting experience to see these collections before they hit stores.”

In addition to the runway show, many parties and events have been added to the schedule to celebrate the monumental week while spotlighting fashion trends in Kansas City.

“We are very excited to be adding extra events to the schedule each and every season,” said Barber. “This season you can look forward to an additional runway show — Runway on the Rooftop — highlighting swim/resortwear and retailers from the Kansas City Power & Light District on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the new One Light Luxury Condominium Pool.

“We are also partnering with Fair & Fashionable as our charity partner this season, and they will be the highlight of our Thursday evening show. Fair & Fashionable works to change the belief that sun-tanned skin is healthy and in-style through multiple event showcases, demonstrations and other initiatives that support their mission. Many of our designers on Thursday night have embraced this philosophy and asked that their models pledge to have their natural skin tone for the shows that evening.”
