The Mattering Movement
To address the growing student mental health crisis, The Mattering Movement developed a research-backed curriculum focused on fostering a sense of Mattering among students, instructors, and parents. I led the design and development of this program, transforming expert-driven research into engaging, interactive lessons. The curriculum includes 8 lessons for students (grades 5-12), 3 for instructors, and 1 for parents, ensuring accessibility and impact across diverse learning communities. It has already reached over 1,110 students and 150 teachers across 11+ schools and is currently being tested among faculty and students at Harvard.
Beyond lesson development, I helped integrate the curriculum into The Mattering Movement’s website, making it widely accessible. I also created video content, social media assets, and sales materials to support its implementation. Additionally, I designed and assisted with survey and feedback solutions to measure classroom impact, ensuring that the curriculum evolves based on real-world engagement. After completing the lessons in class, 97% of students said they felt an improved sense of mattering.
