Summer has officially gone, but that can’t stop us from enjoying these last few beautiful evenings outside before Fall’s cool weather sneaks in. Naturally, we took off for one of Kansas City’s favorite outdoor venues, Starlight Theatre, to help close another great season of shows with a truly amazing sight to see — Cirque Eloize iD.

Continuing through Sunday, Cirque Eloize is transforming our all-too-familiar stage into a stunning urban crossroads. Their story whisks us away to a world we, too often, forget to see in our own city — the magic, the art and the energy that exists right before our eyes. The undeniable talent of the Cirque Eloize artists is on full display as they bounce, ride, run, dance, flip and fly to energetic beats, pulsing rhythms and the ambiance of the city. The entire experience is just that — an experience — and will undoubtedly leave you gasping in amazement and wondering what could possibly come next.

The show makes stunning use of hip-hop and breakdance to complement 12 circus disciplines showcased among its 14 performers. The sheer strength and athleticism of each and every artist is plenty to impress — but then take a closer look at the attention to detail in the set, lighting and background performances, and its obvious why Cirque Eloize is noted as a leader among contemporary circus acts. Touring since 2009, the iD show is not one to miss.
